Miles McPherson

Still Running After All These Years

Catching Up with Former Charger Miles McPherson

Was First All American from U of New Haven; Loves His Harley Too

Like many guys, sports has been a part of Miles’ life since he was very young. After four years of playing just about every position in Pop Warner Football, Miles’ favorite was running back.

At the University of New Haven in Connecticut, Miles set 19 school records, and made school history by being the first student to be named All American and drafted into the NFL. Miles was inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame.

Miles was a 10th round draft pick for the Los Angeles Rams in 1982. After being cut, he signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers, where he played for four years. Miles’s professional football career ended in 1986. The relationships he made with the coaches and players will last a lifetime.

From riding his Harley and playing golf to working out and running on the beach, Miles stays really active. One of his most intense workouts is the one he does to prepare to preach five times every weekend. He loves to share his knowledge about staying fit and keeping healthy, so that the servant of God can be ready to serve the Lord, anytime, anywhere.
