Our focus will be on the 6 keys to God’s will for you…We’ll learn that God’s plan is worth finding out, that discovering His will is not an exact science and it requires practice…Something you may not thought about is the fact that God has more time, resources and ideas that we can image, and that discovering His will is a process…Well, those are just a few of the examples of what we’ll learn today of Rock Radio.

Living with passion means voluntarily walking into situation that causes pain…We all go through struggles, trials, it’s part of life but look at what Jesus went through…As we see in Luke 22:44, Jesus is praying and sweating drops of blood as He knew what was going to happen, He knew He was going to die…But He did it anyway because he loved us with such passion…Passion is so committed to the purpose of God’s power that it will drive you to be subjected to it before you’re an instrument of His power.

Passion is defined as, “Any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, such as love”…Living with passion means being fully committed to relying only on the preparations God has made for you…God has prepared each of us for a purpose, a cause…It’s up to us to go after that cause, complete our plan, and do so with passion, with strong emotions…Miles will point out that it won’t be easy but we need to live with passion.

Today we’re going to listen to part-2 of his lesson “Power” from the series ‘Do Something’…It’s taken from a very special video presentation of the life of a family that went through one of the toughest this anyone has to face, and that’s the death of a family member…This is the story of a young mother of two extraordinary girls and wife to a devoted husband that was cut short by cancer…Through this message, Miles shows us the incredible power God gave to this brave family to endure.

Today’s message is going to be a bit different…It’s from a very special video presentation Miles did looking at the Johnson Family and how God’s power worked in their lives…Not maybe how you would think, but miraculously just the same.

If God is your Father, you should view pain as a means of purification…You know that God loves you…He will never let you be tempted by more than you can bear and He will never let anything filter through His hands that will destroy you…As a child of God, you must live under His grace, not under the circumstances that come your way…He will teach you things in your pain if you allow Him…Instead of asking God, “Why?”, ask Him, “What do You want me to learn from this”

We all experience pain all our lives, but how we deal with it is determined by how we view ourselves…If you view yourself as the devil views you pain will destroy you, but if you view yourself the way God views you, you will convert pain into power…Anybody who has accomplished anything worthwhile has had to push through hard times…Nothing good that lasts comes easily.

Miles reflected on a day when he and his buddy where cut from the L.A. Rams and were watching a practice from the other side of the fence…Miles could do everything that the other football players could do…He knew all the plays and thought he could do them better than some of the players, but he was still cut from the team…Mile’s 2^nd. Point from this lesson is that, to love God is to obey God and keep His commandments.

Whenever you do something; great or small, good or evil, you have to have a purpose…Whether putting aside 5% of your income for savings or taking over the world by force, you will get nowhere without purpose…Imagine trying to plan a trip without knowing the destination…If you fail to have a destination, you will never arrive…So what is your purpose?

You can’t have a relationship with God without faith…Faith is necessary in order for us to pray, understand the Bible, and receive salvation. Faith is the belief of things unseen, and we all exercise faith in some form every day…We can’t see oxygen, yet we trust it is there for us to breathe… We can’t see gravity, but we don’t leap off of buildings because we know the effect gravity will have…We can’t see wind, but we see what it does and we feel it…We’re sure it exists…The greatest act of faith we exercise daily is love.

In Matthew 4, we’ll see the story of Jesus being led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where He’s tempted by Satan…Jesus must overcome the devil’s temptation in preparation for His own ministry on earth…God put certain things in place (such as this experience) in order to prepare Jesus for His ministry and He does the same for you and me…God prepares us as well, with the Holy Spirit.

Yesterday; Miles began our message talking about a road trip he took by car…On the trip from sunny San Diego to the city that never sleeps, Miles took a map that showed the route he was to take. If he had not consulted the map but just drove on any roads he chose along the way, he could have ended up in Mexico or Canada. Similarly, our journeys have been laid out by God and we need to stick to the plan He gives us. Sometimes we may get sidetracked, but in those times, we must come back to the map that God has given us. If we’re not on the path He has marked for us, the map shows us how to correct the course…That map is His Word & the Holy Spirit.
